The House of Serenissima aims to welcome people who want to try out on stage in drag, preparing them with a path leading to their debut. It also supports several local initiatives, including the Queer We Go Collective in Venice, which promotes actions against discrimination and violence and is part of the Laguna Pride organising committee.
The Queer We Go collective is one of the few initiatives in the city that allows queer people to meet and discuss various individual and social issues. It also organises actions in public space to promote the rights of queer, LGBTQ+ and marginalised people, together with other regional realities, such as NonUnaDiMeno in Venice and Treviso.
The demands revolve around combating violence, promoting self-determination of one's own body and awareness of the consequences of patriarchal and homophobic prejudices in schools, universities, hospitals, workplaces and public and administrative spaces.
The House of Serenissima also works with local groups to provide concrete answers to Venice's housing emergency, which is due to the choices of the current city council and the lack of limits on the city's rental business.
